Racism in football
I don't like to talk about racism very much because it's an emotionally exhausting topic to discuss, but I'm making an exception this time. Specifically, I wrote an article on the Black & White & Read All Over website about my thoughts regarding the ongoing problem of racism in football.
As you know, I am also a writer at the Juventus Black & White & Read All Over blog at SB Nation. My latest article was a farewell letter to the departing striker Gonzalo Gerardo Higuaín. He was brilliant, and I felt he deserved more affection and gratitude for his two seasons in service of Juventus.
In addition to all my writing here, I write content elsewhere on the Internet as well. I made a page where you can find all the content that I’ve written on other blogs, most of which is football-related. Check out it!
I generally don’t like to talk about football in specific detail on Cowboy Funk, but I promised to answer every question submitted. The question I received was “Is Cristiano Ronaldo coming to Juventus?” I didn’t get round to finishing and proofreading my answer it before the transfer was confirmed, so I’ll share what I wrote before it was made official.
In the second part of this series, I talk about how football created a winning, warrior mentality within me that applied to every part of my life and transformed the way I view life. I also discuss a term that Tim Grover defines as “The Dark Side.”
Football is more than just a game of 22 (wo)men kicking a ball around for 90 minutes. It has taught me an immeasurable amount about people, society, and, most of all, myself. In the upcoming series of blog posts, I will explore and share this journey with you all!
